Octopuss - She's Seventeen

Release 2025/01/10
"She's Seventeen" is the last single from Octopuss' album "A NUT FOR A JAR OF TUNA", recorded at legendary SHANGRI-LA Studios, Malibu - California, produced and mixed with the multiplatinum producer Gary Miller.

After having performed more than a thousand of shows in 3 continents, Europe, North America and Asia, and having opened for big international icons such as Deep Purple and Scorpions, after having completed tours in U.S., U.K., Italy and rest of Europe, and after becoming one of the most important European bands in Chinese territory, with ten successful tours and hundreds of concerts held in China, including performances at the most prestigious Asian Music Festivals in front of hundreds of thousand fans and at main Television Networks reaching over 70 millions viewers in the Big China, the Italian rock power trio, composed by Reepo (guitar and vocal), Marco "Garrincha" Castellani (bass, founder member of the Italian multiplatinum band "Le Vibrazioni") and Nick Turri (drums, replacing the former drummer Luca Capasso), comes back to amaze again with this "Beatlesque" single, recorded in one of the most famous studio in the world with a world class production, and its animated music video consisting of great aesthetic refinement, which has been realized in collaboration with "IED" (Istituto Europeo di Design, in Milano), one of the European most famous design and visual arts academies, with mixed techniques of animation combining 2D and 3D motion graphic arts.

The Shangri-La Studios, are indeed a milestone of Rock music's history: now owned by Rick Rubin, converted to a recording studio to precise specifications of Bob Dylan and "The Band" in the 1970s, location of Martin Scorsese's documentary "The Last Waltz", this studio has a peerless list of artists recorded such as Eric Clapton, Metallica, Kanye West, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Muse, Lady Gaga, and many other music legends.

The song, produced and mixed with the multiplatinum British producer Gary Miller (David Bowie, Slash & Fergie, Lionel Richie), with the collaboration of Beej Chaney (singer/guitarist from "The Suburbs") and Eric Lynn (sound engineer - among the others, on Ed Sheeran's, Metallica's, Eminem's albums), constitutes an unicum in the Octopuss' musical repertoire - for the rest made of more aggressive and powerful songs - and reveals the band's virtuous talent creating refined harmonies, with a "Beatlesque" delicate sound, with a subtle and suggestive atmosphere.

"She's Seventeen" has a very fresh appeal from the beginning and is characterized by a tight "beat" groove played by the trio; the song neatly explodes in the chorus enriched by the entrance of brilliant vocal harmonies and strings, piano, harmonium, and other instruments, which completes the tune's unique dreamy sound in an accurately orchestrated crescendo accompanying the melodic vocal line. The track consists of happy captivating sound with naïf and easy going lyrics which describe, between metaphor and reality, a girl who seems to live lightly and unconsciously her first love, as if in a teen dream. The most of the listeners will fall in love with this song at first listen, because of its very catchy and refined melodies and vocal arrangements, which could remind somebody of the popular sounds of most iconic bands of the past such as The Beatles, one of the favorite and top influences of the trio.
